Rampur HPS Hits 2000 MU in Record Time

SJVN has set a new benchmark in power generation as its 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station achieved the fastest-ever generation of 2000 Million Units (MU) in a financial year on February 5, 2026. The milestone was reached nine days ahead of the previous record set on February 14, 2020, marking the station’s best performance in its eleven years of operation.

Chairman & Managing Director Bhupender Gupta congratulated employees and all stakeholders associated with the achievement. He expressed gratitude to the Government of India, the Government of Himachal Pradesh, the Ministry of Power, the Central Electricity Authority, and the district administrations of Shimla and Kullu for their continued support and guidance.

The CMD lauded the disciplined work culture of the Rampur HPS team under the leadership of Head of Project Vikas Marwah. Director (Personnel) Ajay Kumar Sharma credited the milestone to collective competence, effective human resource practices, and strong inter-departmental coordination. Director (Finance) Sipan Kumar Garg stated that the record performance reflects the synergy between sound financial management and operational excellence.

Since commissioning, Rampur Hydro Power Station has consistently demonstrated strong engineering design, robust maintenance practices, and sustained operational efficiency, reinforcing SJVN’s commitment to reliable and sustainable power generation for the nation.
