Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta today chaired a review meeting to assess the availability of petrol, diesel, and domestic as well as commercial LPG in Himachal Pradesh, in light of the ongoing situation in the Middle East. Officials were directed to ensure uninterrupted supply of essential fuels to the public.

During the meeting, it was informed that the state currently has adequate stocks of petrol, diesel, and domestic LPG, and there is no reason for public concern. However, the supply of commercial LPG cylinders has been slightly affected due to the prevailing circumstances. Priority supply of commercial cylinders is being ensured for private and government hospitals, as well as educational institutions, to maintain uninterrupted essential services.

Around 15,000 commercial LPG cylinders are presently available in the state and are being distributed to hotels, restaurants, and other institutions as needed.

The Chief Secretary urged domestic LPG consumers and the general public not to panic or make unnecessary bookings based on misinformation circulating on social media. He emphasized that domestic LPG stocks are sufficient and advised consumers to remain patient.

He also directed all Deputy Commissioners to closely monitor the situation and conduct daily reviews to ensure smooth supply and distribution of petroleum products and LPG across their respective districts.
