In a modest single-room home where comfort often takes a back seat to daily struggles, a young boy quietly absorbed a life lesson early on—success is not handed over, it is built through effort and persistence. That boy, Lokesh Kaundal, has now secured his place among the Class XII merit holders at Auckland House School for Boys, scoring an impressive 90.75%.

His journey is rooted in simplicity and resilience. His father, Neem Chand, serves as a cook at the same school, while his mother, Shiv Dai, supports the household as a sewing assistant. Despite limited resources, what never fell short was encouragement and determination.

“We have faced many hardships, but today our son has made us proud beyond words. His success feels like the greatest reward of our lives,” his parents said, their voices reflecting years of sacrifice and hope. Growing up inspired by his elder brother and sister, Lokesh learned to see beyond circumstances. One message from his father stayed firmly with him—no matter the pressure or setbacks, focus must never be allowed to slip.

A former Head Boy of the school, Lokesh managed leadership responsibilities alongside academics and co-curricular activities with remarkable balance. He actively participated in sports, theatre, and public speaking, shaping himself as a well-rounded student. He firmly follows the belief that “all work and no play make Jack a dull boy,” treating sports as a way to build discipline and mental strength.

Without any external coaching, he relied entirely on consistency and self-discipline. “An hour of complete focus is far more rewarding than an entire day of distracted studying,” Lokesh says. He deliberately avoids comparisons, believing that “comparisons take away peace,” and prefers clarity through communication. “Teachers are always supportive—you just need to ask,” he adds. His academic track record has remained consistently strong, with 88.80% in Class X and two recognitions at the Governor’s level for academic excellence.

The school administration also expressed admiration for his achievement. The Principal of Auckland House School for Boys remarked, “Lokesh’s achievement reflects not only academic excellence but also strength of character. His journey is an inspiration that dedication and sincerity can overcome any limitation.”

For Lokesh, this milestone carries deep personal meaning. “This is my way of expressing gratitude to my parents. They have struggled a lot for me,” he says. With a dream of serving the nation as a doctor in the Indian Army, Lokesh’s journey stands as a powerful reminder that success is shaped not by privilege, but by perseverance, discipline, and unwavering focus.
