Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to employee welfare while meeting a delegation of the Himachal Pradesh Science Masters Association (HPSMA) led by Hamirpur district president Vikas Kaushal in Shimla.
The delegation urged the Chief Minister to promote TGT teachers to the posts of Headmaster and Lecturer. Responding to their demands, the Chief Minister assured them of sympathetic consideration.
Sh. Sukhu said the government has always prioritized employee welfare and restored the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) in its first Cabinet meeting despite pressure to adopt the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS). He maintained that OPS would continue in the state under all circumstances.
The Chief Minister also said that despite financial challenges, including reduced central financial support and discontinuation of the Revenue Deficit Grant, the state government is ensuring uninterrupted development and public welfare works in Himachal Pradesh.
