Presiding over a meeting of the Himachal Pradesh Rajput Welfare Board, CM Sukhu affirmed that the state government is working with complete dedication for the welfare of every section of society. He highlighted that over the past three and a half years, numerous welfare initiatives have been effectively implemented on the ground to guarantee that government benefits directly reach all eligible individuals.

As part of these ongoing efforts, CM Sukhu announced the upcoming launch of the Mukhyamantri Ka Apna Parivar Sukhi Parivar Yojana on October 2, 2026. This initiative will cover nearly 2 lakh extremely poor families, granting them 300 units of free power along with a monthly financial aid of ₹1,500 for women. Crucially, around 90,000 of these households will be receiving government support for the very first time.

The Chief Minister also emphasized the state’s pioneering role in promoting natural farming and boosting the rural economy through competitive Minimum Support Prices. Himachal Pradesh currently offers ₹80 per kg for wheat, ₹50 per kg for maize, ₹150 per kg for raw turmeric, and has introduced a support price of ₹30 per kg for ginger. Furthermore, the state provides the highest milk support prices in the country, procuring cow milk at ₹61 per litre and buffalo milk at ₹71 per litre.

In the education and social welfare sectors, the administration has expanded the eligibility for the Dr. Y.S. Parmar Vidyarthi Rin Yojna by raising the family income limit from ₹4 lakh to ₹12 lakh, allowing more students to access higher education loans up to ₹20 lakh at a nominal 1% interest rate. Additionally, under the Indira Gandhi Sukh Shiksha Yojana, children of widows and parents with disabilities receive ₹1,000 monthly up to age 18, with the state fully funding their higher education costs up to age 27. To encourage self-employment, interest subsidies between 3% and 5% are also being extended under the state’s Home Stay Scheme.
