As part of the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative, Lok Bhavan today organised a ‘Milan Programme’ to mark the Foundation Day of West Bengal, bringing together residents of West Bengal living in Himachal Pradesh in a celebration of cultural harmony and national integration.
Governor Kavinder Gupta welcomed the participants and honoured them with traditional Himachali caps and mufflers as a gesture of goodwill and cultural exchange. He extended warm greetings to the people on West Bengal Foundation Day and lauded the state’s rich cultural heritage, traditions, literature, and contributions to the nation’s socio-cultural development.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor said that such programmes reflect the true spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, strengthening unity through cultural exchange and mutual understanding. He noted that these initiatives help people stay connected to their roots while fostering a sense of belonging within the larger national fabric.
Shri Gupta emphasized that India’s strength lies in its diversity and stressed the importance of preserving and promoting the unique languages, traditions, and cultures of different states for future generations.
Participants shared insights into West Bengal’s cultural legacy, including its festivals, art, literature, cuisine, and traditions, and engaged in an interactive session with the Governor.
