Shimla Nursing College, Shurala, celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 with enthusiasm, highlighting the importance of yoga in promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and a healthy lifestyle among students and staff.
The programme began with an introduction on the significance of yoga, followed by a guided session of asanas, pranayama, and meditation conducted by Yoga Instructor and Gold Medallist Bhupinder Kumar, who emphasized yoga as a holistic approach to overall wellness.
The Principal encouraged students to adopt yoga in daily life for better stress management, concentration, and health. Faculty members also spoke on the role of yoga in maintaining a balanced and disciplined lifestyle.
Students participated actively and pledged to spread awareness about yoga in their communities. The event was attended by Managing Director Mohit Sood, Secretary Dr. Kimi Sood, Principal Krishna Chauhan, along with members of the METRI Society, a women-led NGO.
The celebration also featured a Yoga Quiz, Yoga Competition, Poster Making Competition, and Zumba session, showcasing students’ enthusiasm and creativity.
