CM Sukhu on Monday launched the ‘Takniki Rozgar Setu’ portal, a first-of-its-kind initiative of the Technical Education Department aimed at connecting technical students, educational institutions and employers through a unified digital platform.
The Chief Minister said the portal would strengthen skill development and employment by enabling students to create profiles, showcase their skills, apply for jobs online and track their placement status. Employers can register, post vacancies, shortlist candidates and complete the recruitment process through the platform.
A total of 164 institutions, including 136 ITIs, 18 polytechnics, five engineering colleges and five pharmacy colleges, have been onboarded. So far, 26,168 students have registered through the Him Access Integration Portal, with skill mapping completed for 23,054 students, while 97 employers have joined the platform.
The portal also allows skilled workers such as electricians and plumbers to register and offer services, including short-term assignments. Educational institutions will be able to manage student records and monitor placement outcomes, strengthening industry-academia linkages.
Sukhu said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to leveraging technology for employment generation and preparing Himachal Pradesh’s youth to meet industry requirements.
