The Himachal Pradesh Education Department has set up a high-level committee to review the objections raised by the Himachal Pradesh Primary Teacher Federation (HPPTF) regarding the inclusion of primary schools under the state’s Complex School System.
The move comes after a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on July 25, 2026, where HPPTF representatives expressed their concerns over the policy introduced through a government notification dated September 23, 2025.
As per the official order, the committee will be headed by Director of School Education Ashish Kohli. The panel will hold discussions with various teachers’ organisations and submit a detailed report with recommendations to the state government.
The committee comprises senior officials from the Education Department along with representatives from HPPTF, Himachal Pradesh Non-Teaching Employees Association (HPNTEA), Principals’ Association, Himachal Pradesh School Lecturers Association (HPSLA), Himachal Government Teachers Union (HGTU), TGT associations and the C&V Federation.
The first meeting of the committee will be held on August 5, 2026, at 3 PM in the Conference Hall of the Directorate of School Education, Lalpani, Shimla. During the meeting, stakeholders will discuss the concerns related to the policy before the committee submits its recommendations to the government.
