The historic International Minjar Fair of Chamba came to a vibrant close today with CM Sukhu participating in the traditional Minjar immersion ceremony. Leading the ceremonial Shobha Yatra, the Chief Minister walked from Akhand Chandi Palace to Manjri Garden, where the sacred Minjar was immersed in the Ravi River as per age-old customs.
The grand procession reflected the cultural richness of Chamba, featuring the presence of local deities, folk artists, cultural performers, traditionally dressed participants, visitors, traditional drummers and personnel from the Himachal Pradesh Police and Home Guards.
During the concluding ceremony, the Chief Minister offered the Minjar, symbolizing the hopes of prosperity and a good harvest, to the Ravi River. The offering included a coconut, seasonal fruits and a coin tied in red cloth, with prayers for peace, happiness and abundance for the people of the state.
