The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences successfully conducted the NEET-PG 2026 examination across 36 States and Union Territories on August 30. Out of 2.73 lakh registered candidates, over 2.65 lakh appeared for the exam, which was executed across 1,111 test centres in 339 cities with extensive technological oversight.

To ensure strict security and prevent impersonation, NBEMS deployed 2,527 Independent Appraisers and over 700 senior medical educators across the country. The entire examination process was monitored live via CCTV surveillance from the NBEMS Headquarters in Dwarka through a dedicated 190-member joint surveillance team and 16 Regional Command Centres.

While the examination was completed smoothly for over 2.63 lakh candidates nationwide, internal power supply issues caused by testing agency M/s TCS Ltd. at two centres in Sitapura, Jaipur, disrupted the exam for 2,445 candidates. Expressing regret for the inconvenience, NBEMS has announced a dedicated re-examination for the affected candidates in Jaipur on September 5, 2026, to ensure a fair testing process.
