Auckland House School (Junior Section) hosted its Annual Cultural Programme in Shimla today, showcasing an impressive fusion of music, dance, and theater. Young students from Nursery through Form II took to the stage, delivering dynamic performances centered on creativity, self-expression, and core moral values.
The event opened with a soulful rendition of “He’s Still Working on Me” by Form I students, setting a reverent tone for the day. A key highlight was Form II’s performance of the musical play Rag, Tag, and Bobtail, which delivered a poignant message on appreciating individual contributions and standing against exploitation. The stage came alive with the vibrant cultural traditions of India through a series of folk dances—including Himachali, Rajasthani, Uttarakhandi, Gujarati, and Bihu—alongside energetic action songs such as “Naa Kato Mujhe” and “Nani Teri Morni.”
Chief Guest S.R. Harnot, a noted writer and prominent personality, commended the young performers for their poise and energy. He commended the faculty and management for leveraging the performing arts to instill empathy, ethics, and a sense of responsibility in students from an early age.
Director-Principal Smaraki Samantaroy praised the faculty and students for their hard work, emphasizing that cultural platforms are essential for building confidence, teamwork, and holistic development. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony celebrating student achievements, followed by the National Anthem.
