Rakshita Thakur of AHS bags gold, secures national berth

Auckland House School’s Class 6 student Rakshita Thakur has brought laurels to her school and district by securing a gold medal at the State Karate Championship held in Baijnath, Kangra on May 16–17, 2026.

The championship, organised by the Karate Association of Himachal Pradesh, saw participation from nearly 300 players across all 12 districts of the state, making the competition highly competitive.

Despite her young age, Rakshita impressed everyone with her discipline, confidence, and strong technical skills throughout the tournament. Her outstanding performance not only earned her the top podium finish but also secured her selection for the upcoming National Karate Championship, where she will represent Himachal Pradesh.

Her achievement has been widely applauded by the school administration, teachers, and fellow students, who extended their best wishes for her future competitions at the national level.
