Embracing the true ethos of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’, Lok Bhavan in Shimla transformed into a vibrant cultural mosaic as it hosted a special programme celebrating the foundation days of numerous States and Union Territories. Secretary to the Governor, Sandeep Bhardwaj, graced the event as the chief guest, warmly engaging with residents living in Himachal Pradesh who hail from diverse corners of the nation—ranging from Punjab, Delhi, and Jammu and Kashmir to southern states like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka, alongside island territories like Andaman and Nicobar, and Lakshadweep.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhardwaj shared that the initiative was envisioned directly by the Governor to foster a deeper sense of national integration. By inviting people from different linguistic and regional backgrounds to celebrate their unique heritage, languages, and traditions under one roof, the programme aimed to cement mutual understanding and harmony among communities residing in the hill state. Participants enthusiastically shared their personal experiences and expressed heartfelt gratitude for a platform that allowed them to proudly honour their roots away from home.
The celebration concluded on a deeply warm and symbolic note as Bhardwaj felicitated representatives from the participating regions, gifting them traditional Himachali caps and mufflers as tokens of Himalayan hospitality and goodwill.
