A magnificent sports extravaganza was organised at St. Edward’s School on October 20, 21 and 22 in which all the students from Nursery to Class XII participated with great fervour and manifested their athletic skills with an unimpeachable finesse.
The mega event commenced with hoisting of the National Flag which was followed by the National Anthem and the oath taking ceremony by the School Captain, Armaan Mahajan. School Principal Reverend Father Anil Sequeira motivated the children and declared the Athletic Meet open.
The event proceeded further with the March Past led by the School Council as the four houses exhibited utmost precision, followed by reverberating cheers by students as their buddies added to the house points in events such as long jump, high jump, triple jump, shot put; 100 m, 200 m, 400 m races.
As the events came to an end, the winners of various races were awarded medals and certificates. The Athletic Trophy was lifted by St. John’s House and runners up by St. Mark’s House. The culmination of the day witnessed loud cheers during the prize distribution ceremony. The event ended on a high note with a look of accomplishment and pride on the faces of the students.
