Himachal Pradesh Commemorates Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar’s 117th Birth Anniversary

The 117th birth anniversary of the visionary leader and the first Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, the late Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar, was commemorated today with a grand event held at Riz Maidan. The event was graced by dignitaries, including Kuldeep Singh Pathania, the Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, who served as the chief guest. As a mark of respect, floral tributes were offered at the statue of the esteemed former Chief Minister.

During the occasion, Dr. Parmar’s substantial contributions to the state’s development were lauded. His pivotal role in establishing the mountainous state was discussed with reverence. Notable figures such as Opposition Leader Jay Ram Thakur, Industry Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan, Education Minister Rohit Thakur, Minister of Urban Development, Youth Services, and Sports Vikramaditya Singh, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mohan Lal Brakta, along with MLAs Sukhram Chaudhary, Balveer Verma, Vinod Kumar, Reena Kashyap, Shimla Mayor Surendra Chauhan, Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal, and others, paid their heartfelt homage to Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar.

As part of the event, the Himachal Photo Gallery in Shimla curated a photo exhibition showcasing moments from Dr. Parmar’s life. This exhibit was witnessed by the chief guest and other distinguished individuals. The Information and Public Relations Department’s artists presented devotional music and hymns during the program. In attendance were also Deputy Commissioner Aditya Negi, Police Chief Sanjeev Gandhi, Additional District Magistrate (Protocol) Jyoti Rana, Municipal Commissioner Bhupendra Atri, Assistant District Magistrate (Urban) Bhanu Gupta, Assistant District Magistrate (Rural) Nishant Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Dr. Poonam Bansal, and other officials and staff members. The commemoration of Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar’s birth anniversary serves as a reminder of his visionary leadership and invaluable contributions to the progress of Himachal Pradesh.
