St. Edward’s School Marks Centenary with Successful Heritage Cycling Ride

St. Edward’s School, one of India’s oldest and most prestigious educational institutions, celebrated its 100th anniversary with an unforgettable Heritage Cycling Ride. The event, held in Shimla, attracted 80 cyclists from across the country, all united in honoring the school’s rich legacy and promoting healthy living within the community.

A Historic Start: The Flag-Off by Principal Anil Sequeira

The Heritage Cycling Ride was flagged off by Principal Anil Sequeira from the historic ridge in Shimla, a symbol of the school’s deep-rooted connection to the city. The ride attracted not only current students and staff but also many August Old Edwardians who expressed their pride in the school’s long-standing history and vibrant community.

This event was more than just a cycling ride; it was a celebration of the school’s influence on generations of students and its continued contribution to the cultural and educational landscape of India.

Cycling Through Shimla’s Scenic Heritage Route

The cyclists embarked on a picturesque journey through Shimla, a city known for its breathtaking views and rich heritage. The route connected participants to the cultural landmarks of the city, allowing them to experience Shimla’s history and traditions while fostering a sense of unity and connection with the local community.

Felicitation Ceremony: Honoring Cyclists and Community Leaders

The event concluded with a grand felicitation ceremony at St. Edward’s School, where Ambassador Manpreet Vohra honored top cyclists, including St. Edward’s students and key members of the Shimla community.

National-level riders like Akshit Gaur, Rajbir Singh, Aayan Dogra, Kunal Chauhan, Ashish Sherpa, Vansh Kalia, and Divija Sood were recognized for their outstanding achievements in the sport. Ambassador Vohra praised the dedication and passion displayed by the cyclists and commended the Himalayan Adventure Sports & Tourism Promotion Association (HASTPA) for organizing the successful ride.
