Annual Day is one of the most anxiously awaited programmes which forms an indispensable part of school activities. The annual function of St Edwards School for Classes III, IV and V was held today, based on the theme ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. The chief guest for the first show was Hemraj Bairwa, Mission Director, National Health Mission who commenced the event with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp along with School Principal Reverend Father Anil Sequeira.
Neeraj Gupta, a Senior Advocate of HP High Court was the Chief Guest for the second show, while the Chief Guest for the third show was Dr Kartik Syal, MBBS, MD, presently working as Associate Professor in the Dept. of Anaesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Management, IGMC, Shimla.
Students of Classes IV and V performed the Diya Dance followed by karate boys who showcased their flexibility and agility through different moves. Students showcased their enthusiasm and lively spirit through Aerobics and various Yogic postures. They also infused patriotic sentiments in the audience through a play wherein the actors gave amazing performances by bringing their characters to life.
The English One Act Play was also staged by the students of Class III. The entire function was a colourful amalgamation of dance, music and drama which left the audience spellbound.
Each programme concluded with the felicitation of the chief guest by the School Principal.
