While addressing the conference organized for advocates by the Law and Legal Affairs wing of Himachal Pradesh Bhartiya Janata Party here today, Chief Minister said that there was a special relationship between law and politics as it was important to have knowledge of law to serve the people through politics. He said that advocates also play an important role in making the politicians aware of laws from time to time. Apart from this, their contribution in getting justice to the people is also commendable, he added Chief Minister said that the Advocates not only help in getting justice to the people but also have the ability to lead the people when needed. He said that thus it becomes the responsibility of advocates that they maintain the trust with which people come to seek justice. He said that the advocates also get greater opportunities to get feedback about the Government. He said that the advocates can also motivate the people to choose better options for the development in the state. Jai Ram Thakur said that the role of advocates in bringing about social change was also incomparable. He said that during the Covid-19 pandemic, the opposition tried to misled the people by terming the vaccine as a Modi vaccine, but the same leaders queued up to get themselves vaccinated as people did not pay much heed to their propaganda.
He said that the functioning of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was far more different from other leaders. He always think big and strives hard to achieve the same. He said that even while erecting the ‘Statue of Unity’ as a mark of respect to Sardar Patel, Prime Minister came with a new idea of bringing soil from all over the country so as to actually make it a symbol of Statue of Unity. Chief Minister said that abrogation of Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, construction of Lord Ram Temple at Ayodhya was possible due to the able and strong leadership provided by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that every action and deeds of the Prime Minister were aimed at welfare of the poor and the downtrodden and making India a world power. Jai Ram Thakur said that the nature and style of functioning varies from person to person. He said that it was strange that the Congress leaders claimed that the employees must be dealt firmly and with heavy hand. He said that the employees of the State were hardworking, honest and had always played a major role in development of the State. He said that the State Government from day one worked with complete fairness and without an iota of vengeance and vendetta. He said that on the other hand the Congress divided the people of the State even on the colour of caps.
He said that what can be expected from a party whose National leader measures wheat flour in liters, whereas on the other hand the BJP is led by a leader who considers Himachal as his second home. He said that although about two years of the State Government’s present term got affected by the corona pandemic, yet the State Government ensured that the pace of development goes uninterrupted. Jai Ram Thakur said that schemes such as HIMCARE, Sahara Yojna, Gharini Suvidha Yojna, Mukhiya Mantri Swabalamban Yojna, Shagun Yojna etc. has provided helping hand to every eligible house hold. He said that an amount of Rs 1300 crore was being spent on providing social security pension to the needy. He said that 3.35 lakh free gas connections were provided to the poor families under the Grihini Suvidha Yojna. He said that Rs 31,000 were being provided to girls belonging to poor families under the Sagun Yojna at the time of their marriage. He said that the State Government took several initiatives such as organizing ‘Global Investor’s Meet’ in the State to attract investment. He said that MoUs worth over Rs 92,000 crores were signed and ground breaking ceremony had been performed worth Rs 42,000 crore till date. Chief Minister said that since the assembly elections were round the corner, Advocates can act as the spokesperson of the society and can play a decisive role in elections as they can understand and feel the pulse of the masses.
He said that the BJP in the State would surely succeed in achieving Mission Repeat by once again forming the Government in the State. Urban Development and Law Minister Suresh Bhardwaj said that the advocates associated with the BJP, could also make people aware about the constitutional rights as well as human rights. He said that State Executive Committee, District Executive Committee and Tehsil / Divisional Executive Committee had been constituted by the Law and Legal Affairs wing of Himachal Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party for the advocates to raise various issues at the state, district and block level and to find solutions of various issues. Co-Incharge of the State BJP Devinder Rana said that the State today has a capable and honest leadership and the Government was bound to again come to power in the coming elections. MP and State BJP President Suresh Kashyap also spoke on the occasion and said that the eight years tenure of the Modi Government had ensured a corruption free administration to the nation and in the State also the Jai Ram Thakur Government was also about to complete its five years tenure with not even a single case of corruption reported in Government functioning. Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Trilok Jamwal and other leaders were also present on the occasion.
