The Shimla Municipal Corporation has released a revised list of garbage collection and pickup points across all 34 wards in the city to streamline waste management and improve sanitation services.
The updated plan covers key areas including Bharari, Summer Hill, Totu, Sanjauli, Chotta Shimla, New Shimla, Kasumpti, Boileauganj and Khalini, with designated pickup locations near markets, bus stands, schools, housing colonies and public institutions.
Several wards have multiple collection points to ensure efficient door-to-door waste disposal and better garbage handling in densely populated areas. Major locations identified include Lakkar Bazar, Dhalli, Ram Bazar, Lower Bazar, Jakhu, Annadale, Panthaghati and Kanlog.
Officials said the revised ward-wise arrangement is aimed at strengthening sanitation services, improving waste collection efficiency and preventing garbage accumulation in the city.
Residents have been urged to cooperate with sanitation workers and dispose of waste only at the designated collection points notified by the Municipal Corporation.
