The Himachal Pradesh Government has claimed that it has fulfilled all major election guarantees within three and a half years of coming to power, while launching several welfare and development initiatives across the state.
Among its key decisions, the government restored the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for 1.36 lakh employees, introduced a monthly Rs. 1,500 honorarium for eligible women under the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh-Samman Nidhi Yojana, and launched multiple self-employment schemes for youth, including the Rajiv Gandhi Swarozgar Start-up Scheme and e-Taxi Scheme.
The government has also increased MSP for naturally grown crops, introduced English-medium education from Class 1 in government schools, and started Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding Schools in phases across Assembly constituencies.
To strengthen the rural economy, procurement prices for milk have been increased and livestock owners are being paid for organic manure and vermi compost. Over 23,200 government jobs and 51,400 private-sector employment opportunities have reportedly been created during the past three years.
The state has also introduced advanced healthcare facilities, including robotic surgery and PET Scan services, while nearly one lakh poor families are expected to benefit from 300 units of free electricity under the ‘Apna Parivar-Sukhi Parivar’ scheme.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the government remains committed to inclusive growth, rural empowerment and welfare-driven development in the state.
