The inaugural Atkins Memorial Inter-School Basketball and Hockey Championship was held at Auckland House School for Boys on 22nd and 23rd August, 2016 to commemorate the Sesquicentennial celebrations. In all eight schools participated in the basketball championship. The first and second positions were bagged by The Lawrence School, Sanawar and St. Lukes, Solan respectively.
In the Hockey Championship, first and second positions were secured by Auckland House School and Govt. Senior Secondary School, Sanjauli.
The competition was inaugurated by School Principal Michael A. John, Principal, and the chief guest for the prize distribution ceremony was Director Principal Sunita John, Auckland House School, Shimla. She lauded the efforts of the players who displayed great passion, zeal and sportsmanship while competing in the events. She congratulated all the participants as the championship turned out to be a great success.
