Governor Kavinder Gupta has lauded the bravery, precision, and professionalism of the Indian Armed Forces on the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor. He said that on the night of 7–8 May 2025, the forces carried out a meticulously planned strike on terrorist training camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, in response to the 22 April 2025 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 innocent lives.

Describing the operation as a landmark moment, the Governor said Operation Sindoor was not merely a military action but a strong global message that India will never bow to terrorism. He noted that the Armed Forces demonstrated exceptional coordination, determination, and operational excellence throughout the mission.

He added that the operation marked a significant shift in India’s counter-terrorism and cross-border response strategy, moving towards a more proactive doctrine. During the operation, Indian forces successfully destroyed 11 airfields and nine terror camps, while ensuring that no damage was inflicted on Indian military assets. Indigenous defence systems such as BrahMos and Akash played a key role, showcasing India’s growing self-reliance and defence capability.

The Governor also highlighted Himachal Pradesh’s proud legacy of service in the Armed Forces, stating that the state has consistently produced brave soldiers who have served at the forefront of national defence.

He said the hills of Himachal echo countless stories of courage and sacrifice, and expressed gratitude to all soldiers and their families for their service to the nation.

Kavinder Gupta urged citizens to honour the legacy of Operation Sindoor by strengthening national unity, integrity, and adopting a zero-tolerance approach towards terrorism. He called upon the people of Himachal Pradesh to observe the occasion with pride, gratitude, and renewed commitment to the nation.
