Cabinet Rank Status Withdrawn in Himachal

The Himachal Pradesh government has decided to withdraw the ‘Cabinet Rank’ status currently granted to several officials, including Chairpersons, Vice-Chairpersons, Deputy Chairpersons of boards, corporations, and commissions, along with Principal and Political Advisors.

According to an official spokesperson, the move is aimed at streamlining administrative protocol and improving governance efficiency. In addition, 20% of the salaries and monthly emoluments of these authorities will be deferred until September 30, 2026.

All Administrative Secretaries have been directed to take immediate action to implement the decision.
