Dharamshala: The NCC cadets embarked on their journey on the fourth day of the Him Trek at 5:00 AM from the base camp at Dharamshala Degree College, heading towards the Legislative Assembly and Tapovan. The primary goal of the journey was to provide cadets with exposure to various cultural and educational sites.
The cadets observed the Legislative Assembly complex, which was a unique experience for them. During this visit, they were briefed about the sessions held in the assembly and were shown the meeting venue. Additionally, they enjoyed the sight of the snow-clad Dhauladhar ranges visible from the assembly.
Following the assembly tour, the cadets were taken to Chinmaya Tapovan, nestled in the lap of Himachal Pradesh. This place is known for its lush green forest and serene environment, offering a refreshing experience. The cadets relished the beautiful scenery and fresh mountain air, making each step worthwhile. They visited the peaceful Ram Temple and saw a sacred stone from the Ram Setu. Refreshments were provided afterward.
The main objectives of the trekking camp included fostering cultural understanding among the NCC cadets, enhancing their endurance and self-confidence, exposing them to adventurous activities, and educating them about the importance of the environment. The All India Trekking Expedition Camp aimed to equip cadets with the experience of working under adverse conditions and marching in coordination during wartime.
In the evening, a session was organized by the Brahma Kumari team, encouraging cadets to purify their minds through meditation. They were also inspired to lead a life free from addiction and stress.
The activities on the fourth day of the Him Trek were not only significant from an educational and cultural perspective but also immensely beneficial for the mental and physical development of the cadets.
