Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said that there was a need for everyone to unite in the campaign against drug abuse. He emphasized on all sections of the society to be determined and work with commitment to end drug abuse.


The Governor was addressing as the Chief Guest at the ‘Young Achievers Award-2025’ organized by Amar Ujala newspaper group here today. He presented ‘Young Achievers Award-2025’ to the youth who have excelled in various fields of society.
On the occasion, the Governor said that he had started the campaign against drug abuse in the State with the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. For a year, he himself was doubtful about what the result would be but with the cooperation of the media and the people of the State, changes can be witnessed.
The Governor appreciated the efforts of the newspaper in discovering talents from the society and encouraging them. He expressed contentment that girls were also at the forefront among those receiving the honor and it would inspire others as well. He urged the newspaper to make efforts to include special category talents in such programs in future. “It is the dedication, creativity and perseverance of the awardees that has brought them to this platform.
They have not only achieved success for themselves but have also made the State proud and have become role models for countless youth of Himachal Pradesh”, said Shukla. He also extended his best wishes to the people of the State on Statehood Day to be celebrated on 25th January and Republic Day thereafter.
On the occasion, Bavindra Vashisht, Editor Amar Ujala Himachal welcomed the Governor. He said that the newspaper was also making significant contributions in social welfare programmes and as a media group, it was working for the upliftment of the society. The newspaper organized many programs related to social cause, which have proved to be important in giving a new direction to society.
Suresh Shandilya, State Bureau Chief presented the vote of thanks. C.P. Verma, Secretary to Governor, Dheeraj Roman, Unit Head of the newspaper, Amit Mishra, Zonal Head and other prominent people were also present on the occasion.
