Education Minister Rohit Thakur held a review meeting with Public Works Department (PWD) officials to assess infrastructure development in the Jubbal-Kotkhai constituency, emphasizing the urgent need for seamless logistics during the peak apple harvest season. He instructed officers to adhere strictly to project deadlines, prioritize the repair of damaged roads, clear debris promptly, and maintain key routes to safeguard the movement of produce and prevent delays for local growers.
Highlighting major funding milestones, the Minister announced that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has granted administrative approval of ₹203.52 crore under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) 2026–27 for upgrading the Chhaila-Neripul-Yashwant Nagar-Kumarhatti Road. This allocation is part of a broader ₹239.45 crore CRIF package for Himachal Pradesh aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and simplifying market access for horticulturists.
In addition to reviewing projects funded by PMGSY, NABARD, and the World Bank, Rohit Thakur directed the PWD to complete pending buildings with already-laid foundation stones within six months. He noted that approximately ₹550 crore has been utilized for local development so far, delivering 30 public buildings and 182 roads to the region. He also prioritized the restoration of disaster-damaged infrastructure, setting a one-week deadline for administrative formalities on completed roads, and instructed officials to immediately initiate tendering for the Kotkhai Trauma Centre and the Savra Indoor Stadium.
