CM Sukhu inspected Nahan Medical College in Sirmaur district today and interacted with doctors to discuss their concerns and suggestions aimed at improving healthcare services in the state.
During the visit, the Chief Minister emphasized that similar interactions have been held in other medical colleges to incorporate doctors’ inputs into policy decisions, ensuring better quality healthcare for patients. He also announced an increase in the stipend of senior resident doctors from Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 1 lakh, and for senior resident super-specialists from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 1.30 lakh, along with a planned expansion of PG medical seats.
The Chief Minister further mentioned that 60-student sections will be created in medical colleges, with corresponding staff appointments, to provide better education and training to future doctors.
This visit reinforces the state government’s commitment to strengthening medical education and healthcare infrastructure, ensuring accessible and high-quality healthcare services for the people of Himachal Pradesh.
