Under the direction of CM Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the State Government has initiated the safe return of students studying in Jammu and Kashmir. As part of this effort, a bus carrying 39 Himachali students studying in Srinagar departed for Jammu at 11 AM on 10-05-2025, arranged by the Jammu & Kashmir State Transport Department.
The bus initially expected to reach Jammu by 5 PM, however due to heavy traffic congestion near Banihal on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, the student’s arrival has been delayed. Authorities now anticipate that the bus will reach Jammu later in the evening.
HRTC Managing Director Dr. Nipun Jindal said, As per the Chief Minister’s instructions, our officers are in constant coordination with the authorities in Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir. An HRTC bus has already sent to Jammu, which will bring the students to Jasur in Kangra district.
Due to a delay in their arrival at Jammu, the students now brought to Jasur tomorrow morning. The Chief Minister directed that all students brought back to Himachal Pradesh free of cost.
Given the delay, the students will spend the night in Jammu, where the state government has arranged for their accommodation. They will resume their journey to Jasur tomorrow morning. From there, transport will be facilitated to take them to their respective hometowns.
