CM Sukhu Emphasizes Timely Completion of Power Projects

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu emphasized the need for prompt completion of ongoing power projects in a meeting held in Hamirpur. To mitigate financial losses, the Chief Minister directed the energy department to ensure timely execution of these projects.

The state has set ambitious goals to commission 628 MW of hydroelectric projects by March 2027. Notable projects include Shongtong Karchham, Chanju-3 Hydro Electric, Kashang-2 and Kashang-3, Deothal Chanju, Renuka Ji Hydroelectric, and Thana Plaun. Completion dates range from 2025 to 2029.

Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu highlighted the state government’s focus on solar energy, with a target of generating 1000 MW by 2030. The first phase comprises 17 projects generating 200 MW, including the Pekhubela Solar Power Project scheduled for completion by December 2023.

The Chief Minister urged officials to expedite all power projects to maximize benefits for the people of the state. The meeting was attended by Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sunder Singh Thakur, MLAs Inder Dutt Lakhanpal, Ashish Sharma, Suresh Kumar, and other dignitaries.
