CM Sukhu on Friday dedicated a newly constructed multi-level parking facility at the SDA Complex in Kasumpti to the public. Developed at a cost of ₹28.37 crore, the parking structure can accommodate up to 315 vehicles and is expected to provide significant relief from parking congestion in the area.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Minister said that improving civic infrastructure and ensuring better public amenities remains a key priority of the state government. He noted that the project was completed with adequate financial support from the present government and would serve the needs of both residents and visitors to the state capital.

He emphasized that the increasing number of vehicles in Shimla has created a growing demand for organized parking spaces, adding that the government is actively pursuing the development of additional parking infrastructure across the city.

Highlighting ongoing urban development initiatives, Shri Sukhu said that works worth ₹246 crore are underway to establish an underground utility duct network in Shimla. The project aims to relocate overhead cables beneath the ground, enhancing the city’s appearance, improving service efficiency, and preserving its heritage charm.

The Chief Minister further announced that ₹150 crore has been earmarked for the widening and strengthening of Shimla’s Circular Road. He said the project would help ease traffic bottlenecks, improve road safety, and provide smoother movement for residents as well as the large number of tourists visiting the hill station each year.
