CM Wishes Dalai Lama on his 87th Birthday

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur virtually participated in ceremony organised to mark the 87th birth anniversary of Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama at Dharamshala in Kangra district today. The Chief Minister had a pre-scheduled program to personally attend the birthday celebrations of His Holiness the Dalai Lama held at Dharamshala, but due to unfavourable weather conditions, he virtually attended the program. While telephonically conveying birthday greeting to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the Chief Minister wished him good health and long life.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the energy and dedication with which His Holiness the Dalai Lama is working towards humanity and spirituality is inspiring for future generations. He said that the whole life of the Dalai Lama ji is dedicated to humanity, peace and non violence. He has preserved the historical and cultural heritage of the people of Tibet. Chief Minister said that the non-violent efforts of Dalai Lama ji to solve the issues of Tibet, is an example for the world. He said that today Dharamshala is known as the holy city of Buddhism and the home of the Dalai Lama. This city remains the center of attraction for the whole world.

Jai Ram Thakur said that during the period of Corona, there were many misconceptions in the minds of people regarding vaccination. At that time, the Dalai Lama ji himself did the work of removing these misconceptions by getting vaccinated and inspired people to get them vaccinated. Chief Minister urged the people to adopt the ideology of Dalai Lama ji and to work for the welfare of the entire humanity. Jal Shakti Minister Mahender Singh Thakur, Power Minister Sukhram Chaudhary, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Subhasish Panda, Advisor-cum-Principal Private Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. R.N. Batta, Representative Officer of C.T.A. Shimla T. Dorje, Chief Advisor Tenzin and In-charge Lama Yaffil Ebot were present in Shimla.
