The Western Air Command (WAC) of the Indian Air Force (IAF) hosted a two-day Commanders’ Conference on December 6-7, 2024, in New Delhi. Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), was the chief guest at the event and was welcomed with a ceremonial Guard of Honour by Air Marshal PM Sinha, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, WAC. During the conference, the CAS interacted with WAC commanders and highlighted the importance of training and preparedness to excel in multi-domain warfare. He emphasized the theme of the year, “Bharatiya Vayu Sena – Sashakt, Saksham, Atmanirbhar” (Indian Air Force – Empowered, Capable, Self-Reliant), urging commanders to unite their capabilities, capacities, and commitment to achieve greater accomplishments for the IAF.

The discussions focused on enhancing operational readiness through better training and planning, early operationalisation of new equipment, and robust safety and security measures. The CAS also stressed the significance of leadership development by empowering individuals at all levels, ensuring the force remains cohesive and future-ready.

In his address, the CAS praised WAC for its exemplary role as first responders during Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) missions, both within India and abroad. He acknowledged their operational excellence and steadfast dedication to the IAF’s core values of Mission, Integrity, and Excellence. The conference reinforced the vital role of Western Air Command in maintaining the Indian Air Force as a formidable and future-ready force.
