bcs25.9.15insideThe Annual Fete at Bishop Cotton School, Shimla held here today, which was filled with laughter, fun and heaps of enthusiasm. The faculty as well as the students worked tirelessly to prepare for the day. The parents who came to visit their wards enjoyed the huge variety of food and games displayed during the event. The mouthwatering food stalls such as Paneer and Chicken Tikkas, Chole Bhature, Momos, Dosas, Biryani, Ice-creams, Chat Papri, Bhelpuri, Kabab Rolls, Dominos Pizzas, Candy Floss, Popcorns were a hit among not only the students but the elders present on the occasion.

The tiny tots loved the fun games such as Knocking the Cans, Bouncing Castles, and Roll the Dice, to entertain the grown-ups there were the much loved computer games including the very famous Need for Speed and GTA. Along with many other games like Dart Game, Tambola, Feeding the Clown, Shooting Gallery, Basketball, Lucky Dip, Hoopla and Dropping a Coin in the Bucket, there were other games too like Guess the Weight of the Cake, which saw participation from all age groups. The remarkable Jam Session amplified the level of enjoyment and entertainment among all present.

The customary and very popular among the parents, the  novelty corner which included some official school merchandise, stickers, logo bags, batches, cups, plates and many other collectibles, was  managed impeccably by the School Headmaster Christopher Robinson and his wife Dorothy Robinson.

The students wait eagerly for their annual fete and during the occasion do not miss any opportunity to enjoy to the fullest. Talking to a few students as well as parents about the significance of the event, Digvijay Chauhan, the school captain said, “It is a day for absolute fun and exhilaration for us. All our teachers are present on the occasion but on this one day it is not about studying or anything serious, it is solely about having oodles of fun with our faculty, parents and friends”.

Jaskaran, a student of Class VIII said, “Staying in the hostel, we do not get to meet our parents regularly during the session. On very rare occasions like these we not only meet them but also get to enjoy with them in the school”. One of the parents, Mr Behl who had come all the way from Jalandhar said, “It is very important for us to meet the teachers and the headmaster of the school in order to keep track of the progress our child, these kind of events help us build a good rapport with the faculty and spend some quality time with our children”.

The school successfully celebrated yet another annual fete with plenty of enthusiasm and concluded with some cheerful and contented faces of students as well as the parents.
