A morning of joy, innocence, happiness and pure bliss was witnessed by the parents and guests as the Junior Wing of Auckland House School Girls presented their Annual Day programme. The chief guest for the occasion was School Principal Bimla Rathour, ECI Chalet Day School, who was warmly greeted by the Director Principal Sunita John, Boys School Principal Micheal A John and junior wing coordinator, Vaneeta Wilson.
The event began with a sweet hymn by the students of Form I and II, Blessed be your Name, followed by a very entertaining musical play The Rainbow Flowers. Devoid of Sunlight, due to a fight between the rain and sun, the garden flowers accompanied with little insects, such as honey bees, dragonfly and butterfly make their mission to end this fight and get the sunshine back so that they could bloom and play like they used to. A mix of songs and beautiful acting skills of the little ones left everyone mesmerized.
A colourful presentation of dances and action songs kept the parents glued to their seats as they watched their children give amazing performances. A mix of Hindi and English dances on I am a Barbie Girl, Aayan O Lalariya, Resham Ka Rumaal, Pakhira Ho Pakhira, Ne Main Nacha Nacha, and song like Mere Ache Chanda Mama, The More We Get Together were equally attention-grabbing and exciting to watch. The highlight of the morning was a Hindi play titled “Haathi Dada Ka Bal Ghar”. A very gripping play which emphasized the atrocities of people on animals and how the animals adopt good values from people and try to inculcate those into their children. An old elephant who has been abandoned by the humans, heads back to the jungle and shares his experiences with the jungle animals. Due to his age and experience he opens a ‘Bal Ghar’, crèche for the children of jungle animals, but he warns them that adults would not bring their fights among children. The old elephant then shares his wisdom and stories with children and all lived happily in the jungle. The morning ended with a lively Gidda performances, which won a huge round of applause for the children.
Director Principal, John then read the school report, highlighting the academic and co-curricular activities of the students during the current academic year, while the chief guest lauded the efforts and brilliant display of performing skills by the little ones. She also awarded the students who won prizes in various streams.
