DAV_17oct_b2Students of DAV Lakkar Bazaar School, gave a breath taking performance during their annual concert organized by the school management at the Gaiety Theatre, here today. Satish Sagar graced the occasion as chief guest along with other distinguished guests including S.N. Kapoor, Ranjeet Puri, B.S. Himalvi, Ravi Thakur, C.M. Sharma, C.S. Khera, K.D. Sharma, Umesh Aakrey, T.N. Bhagat and Pankaj Dutta. Considering the strength of school the event was conducted in two shifts that is, juniors performed in the morning and seniors in the evening.

The event started with the lighting of lamp and was followed by the prize distribution for the students who performed exceptionally well during the current session not only in academics but other creative activities too.

DAV_17oct_b14With a documentation presentation School Principal Kamna Beri made everyone aware about the achievements of the school and also appreciated the role played by the teachers in lives of students. Speaking on the occasion she said that it is very important for parents to keep an eye on their children so that they do not fall prey to evil forces like drug abuse and other bad habits that might ruin their bright future. She appreciated the role of parents too who are always supportive in making their children a better individual by giving full co-operation to school management in shaping the lives of the students.

Students showcased their talent on stage during the concert in which all the students of the school participated. This year concert theme was a patriotic one in which the journey of India was depicted beautifully in a dance sequel merged with little scenes here and there. In a nearly one and a half hour long continues performance different shades of country were brought to life on stage leaving all spectators craving for more.

Through dance-drama students gave the message that we should fight back social evils like corruption, terrorism, drug abuse and poverty that are deepening their roots in our country with each passing day.

Chief Guest Satish Sagar, was equally pleased with the performance as he said, “I am delighted to be part of this event. I must congratulate the students and parents along with teachers for making it a grand success.” He further laid emphasis that parents should avoid pressing their dreams and aspirations on their children and should not try to compare them with anyone else. He said each child is unique and cannot be judged, just like if one tries to grow an apple out of a peach seed, results will definitely be disheartening. He also stressed the need to let go of the past and focus on present as it shapes our future. Past lessons should be remembered but not form a major part of one’s life. All should be given opportunity to grow and change.

The event concluded with singing of National Anthem.
