CM Sukhu has directed that all workers registered under the Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board be issued Himcare cards and have their e-KYC completed at the earliest through the Him Parivar Portal to enable them to avail benefits under various welfare schemes.

Chairing a review meeting of the Board, the Chief Minister also instructed that financial assistance for higher education—including PhD, MBBS, and engineering—should match the fee charged by government institutions. Additionally, he emphasized that children with disabilities of registered workers should be linked with the Mukhyamantri Sahara Yojana.

Sukhu urged the Board to hold awareness camps on the harmful effects of drug abuse under the anti-chitta campaign and ensure that workers benefit from all available welfare schemes.

During the meeting, it was noted that the Board has spent Rs 20.70 crore on welfare schemes in 2023–24, Rs 33.27 crore in 2024–25, and Rs 26.23 crore in 2025–26 so far. In 2025–26, pensions worth Rs 31.06 lakh were provided to 1,606 beneficiaries.

Board Chairman Nardev Singh Kanwar said the Board provides Rs 51,000 financial assistance for the marriage of a registered worker and up to Rs 51,000 each for the marriage of two children. Member Secretary and CEO Rajiv Kumar added that around Rs 500 crore has been spent so far to provide benefits to workers, with 4,76,052 workers currently registered under the Board.
