Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar said that Himachal Pradesh Child Welfare Council must ensure implementation of government programmes and policies for upliftment, education, rehabilitation and overall development for weaker section of the society.

Governor said the general house meeting of council should be organised regularly to formulate outline so that effective steps are taken in this direction. He said that monitoring of facilities being provided to visually impaired, hearing impaired and others specially abled children should be done regularly.

The Governor was also apprised of various activities of the Council on the occasion.
