Four Congress and two BJP candidates won in bye-elections of six Assembly Constituencies

Shimla: A spokesperson of the Election department said here today that four Indian National Congress (INC) and two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates won in bye-elections held in six Assembly Constituencies (AC) of the state.

Assembly constituency Dharamshala
BJP candidate Sudhir Sharma secured 28066 votes from Dharamshala Assembly Constituency and defeated his nearest rival Devender Singh Jaggi of INC who got 22540 votes. Independent candidates, Rakesh Chaudhary got 10770, while Satish Kumar got 422 whereas 482 voted for NOTA.

Lahaul-Spiti Assembly
Congress candidate from Lahaul-Spiti Assembly Constituency Anuradha Rana secured 9414 votes and defeated her nearest rival Independent candidate Dr. Ram Lal Markanda who got 7454 votes. BJP candidate Ravi Thakur got 3049 votes while 76 voters pressed NOTA.

Sujanpur Assembly Constituency
Congress candidate from Sujanpur Assembly Constituency Captain Ranjit Singh Rana secured 29529 votes and defeated his nearest rival BJP’s Rajender Singh Rana who got 27089 votes. Nationalist Congress Party’s Ravinder Singh Dogra got 334 votes, Independent candidates, Anil Rana 134, Sher Singh 71 votes, Rajesh Kumar got 46 votes while 241 were NOTA.

Kutlehar Assembly Constituency
Congress candidate from Kutlehar Assembly Constituency Vivek Sharma secured 35728 votes and defeated his nearest rival BJP’s Devender Kumar Bhutto who got 30841 votes. Independent candidates, Chanchal Singh got 290, Rajiv Sharma got 228 votes while 337 opted NOTA.

Gagret Assembly Constituency
Congress candidate Rakesh Kalia secured 35768 votes and defeated his nearest rival BJP’s Chaitanya Sharma who got 27281 votes from Gagret Assembly Constituency. Independent candidates, Amit Vashisht 570, Ashok Sonkhala 323, Manohar Lal Sharma got 288 votes while 606 casted NOTA.

Assembly constituency Barsar
BJP’s Inder Dutt Lakhanpal from Barsar Assembly Constituency got 33086 votes and defeated his nearest rival Subhash Chand of Congress, who got 30961 votes.
Independent candidate Vishal Kumar got 452 while 323 voted for NOTA.
