A team of four French scientists from INRAE, led by Prof. Alison Marie Loconto, met with Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla to discuss the ACROPIX project, which aims to promote agro-ecological practices like natural farming. The team is on a three-week visit to explore innovative work at Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni in district Solan.

The Governor highlighted the enthusiasm among Himachal Pradesh farmers for natural farming, with over 1.5 lakh farmers adopting the practice. He discussed certification and sustainability initiatives, praising the university’s pioneering efforts in agroecology.

The ACROPIX project, funded by the European Commission, involves 15 members from 13 countries. The French scientists will interact with university researchers, visit farms, and engage with progressive farmers and natural farming companies to gain insights on implementing natural farming practices globally.
