A workshop on gender sensitization was organised at Chaili Panchayat here today by YWCA of Simla, Jan Abhiyan Sanstha and YES Bank Ltd. in collaboration under the One Billion Rising Campaign and the Community Based Ecotourism Project, Shimla, Chaili. The aim of the Workshop was to generate public awareness and understanding regarding gender issues and to create gender sensitization. The workshop was attended by members of various panchayats (Chaili, Shakrodi, etc).
The Pradhan of Chaili panchayat welcomed the attendees. Ms. Rohini Singh, General Secretary, YWCA of Simla briefed them about One Billion Rising campaign. Dr. Richa Minocha, Member Secretary, Jan Abhiyan Sanstha, spoke on gender sensitization and Community Based Ecotourism Project.
Short videos on the above stated subject were also screened during the workshop. A workshop of this nature was of paramount importance here as the panchayat is opening up for tourism.
