The prestigious ‘Be A Star Poetry Contest,’ hosted by Motivational Strips, the world’s leading writers forum, unveiled its victorious poets in a gala event held yesterday. Esteemed guests, including Dr. K Satchidanandan, President of Kerala Sahitya Akademi, and Raju Barman, Managing Partner of Rupa Publications, graced the occasion. The event witnessed global literary figures celebrating the remarkable talents that emerged from this international platform.

Lilian Woo, the contest chair for ‘Be A Star,’ expressed the challenge of selecting winners from a pool of exceptional talent. She extended her gratitude to the jury, consisting of prominent authors from different corners of the world.

The first place in the Poetry Rendition (English) category was secured by Priyanka Banerjee (India), with Ipsita Ganguli (India) and Mary Lynn Luiz (USA) sharing second and third positions. The winners of the Poetry Rendition (English) category also received an extraordinary prize—a fully paid two-day trip to Muscat City, Oman, sponsored by Akbar Holidays, Best Western Hotels, and Speedy Enterprises from Oman. In the Written Poetry (English) category, Vineet Singh Galhotra (India) claimed the top spot, followed by Paris Manza (Zambia) and Archana Pushkaran (India) in second and third places, respectively.

Pasquale Cusano (Italy) triumphed in the Poetry Rendition of other languages, securing both the first and third places in the Written Poetry category for other languages. Hira Mehta (India) secured first place in the Written Poetry category and third place in the Poetry Rendition of other languages. Graciela Noemi Villaverde (Argentina) stood strong in second position across both categories for other languages.

The founder and president of Motivational Strips, Shiju H Pallithazheth, expressed gratitude to poets worldwide for their enthusiastic participation. He highlighted the impressive reach of the contest, with entries pouring in from over a hundred countries. The poetry contest, beyond its artistic significance, resonated as a conduit for fostering unity and global integration through the power of literature.
