Governor Distributed Blankets to Needy Provided by State Red Cross

Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar presided over the programme organized by Himachal Pradesh Arogya Bhartiya on the occasion of Tulsi Puja at Kusumpti, Shimla today. On this occasion, he distributed blankets to the needy provided by the State Red Cross.

The Governor said that Tulsi plant should be distributed to every household, as Tulsi has great importance in our life. Worshipping of Tulsi has been part of our rich tradition and is also considered a life giving plant.

He said that Himachal is known as Devbhoomi and the people of the state have immense faith in god. He said that the people of the state have given him immense affection in a short period of time, which gives him to strength to work with utmost dedication. He said that with the cooperation of the people he would increase social service activities.

He said that the Red Cross is always ready to serve the poor and suffering humanity of the society.

Earlier, the Governor also offered prayers at Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Kusumpti.

National President of Arogya Bharti, Dr. Rakesh Pandit honoured the Governor and informed about the importance of the program.

State Vice President of Arogya Bharti, Dr. Anil Mehta welcomed the Governor.

Councillor and former Deputy Mayor of Shimla Municipal Corporation Rakesh Sharma presented vote of thanks.

President of Temple Committee, Kusumpti Kamal Sharma and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
