Governor Kavinder Gupta today emphasized the need to harmonize economic development with the preservation of cultural values in an era of rapid global change. He said that while technology, artificial intelligence, innovation, and startups are transforming the world, they should not only be seen as tools for employment but also as means to generate opportunities for others.
He was addressing the Yuva Sangam programme organized under the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative at the Central University of Himachal Pradesh, where students from NIT Puducherry also participated as part of the national integration exchange.
The Governor described Yuva Sangam as a significant platform for fostering national unity, cultural understanding, and youth empowerment. He said India’s diversity across languages, traditions, attire, and food habits is its greatest strength, and such programmes help young people appreciate and respect this richness. He urged students to uphold the spirit of unity and contribute to strengthening the country’s shared identity.
Commending the Central University of Himachal Pradesh for successfully hosting the event, he said the initiative offers students a meaningful opportunity to experience India beyond classrooms and textbooks. He also encouraged visiting students to engage with local communities and explore the cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh.
Highlighting the role of youth in nation-building, Governor Gupta said India’s large young population holds the key to the country’s future progress. He urged students to move beyond academic excellence and actively participate in innovation, entrepreneurship, and social development.
On the occasion, the Governor felicitated the NIT Puducherry delegation. Students from both institutions also showcased cultural performances reflecting India’s unity in diversity.
