Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla inaugurated the Sampoorna Kranti Andolan Mahotsav at the India International Center in New Delhi on Tuesday evening to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the JP movement.
Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said that Jai Prakash Narayan’s dedicated efforts to strengthen democracy were commendable. His role in the Nav Nirman Andolan of the country could not be forgotten and his struggle for the independence of the country and later for its stability would be inscribed in golden letters in the history of the country, said the Governor.
Shiv Pratap Shukla highlighted Jai Prakash Narayan’s commitment to principled politics and urged everyone to draw inspiration from his realistic and pragmatic approach.
He praised the Loknayak Jai Prakash International Study Development Centre for its commendable efforts over the past decades to preserve Jai Prakash Narayan’s legacy.
During the event, 12 individuals who played significant roles in the Total Revolution Campaign were honored with the Jai Prakash Narayan Senani Samman by the Governor.
Former Prime Minister of Central Tibetan Administration Prof. Samdong Rinpoche, former Union Minister B.K. Tripathi, scholars, thinkers and social workers were also present on the occasion.
