In a significant move to foster global industrial collaboration, a high-level delegation from the Government of Himachal Pradesh, led by Hon’ble Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan, engaged with prominent Vietnamese business leaders during an interactive session hosted at the Indian Embassy in Hanoi.

The session spotlighted the growing synergy between India and Vietnam, with discussions centered around potential partnerships in key sectors including healthcare, food processing, pharmaceuticals, electric mobility, and manufacturing.

Tako Ajungla Jamir, IFS (2005), Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy in Vietnam, welcomed the delegation and underscored the mutual economic potential between the two nations. “This interaction opens avenues for Vietnamese enterprises to explore promising investment opportunities in Himachal Pradesh — a state with rich resources and a skilled workforce,” she noted.

The Himachal delegation included Hon’ble MLAs Anil Sharma, Bhawani Singh Pathania, and  Hardeep Singh Bawa, as well as R.D. Nazeem, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries), along with senior officials and representatives from Ernst & Young LLP.

R.D. Nazeem presented a comprehensive overview of sectoral investment opportunities in tourism, wellness, logistics, EV manufacturing, food processing, and pharmaceuticals. He emphasized the shared vision of India and Vietnam to attain developed nation status by 2045–47, with industrial collaboration playing a crucial role in achieving this goal.

“We are committed to offering investor-friendly infrastructure and a streamlined single-window clearance system to facilitate smooth business operations,” Nazeem stated. “This interaction marks a key step toward building strategic partnerships in high-value sectors such as med-tech, pharmaceuticals, and precision manufacturing.”

Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan reaffirmed the Himachal Pradesh Government’s commitment to green industrialization, rural entrepreneurship, and sustainable development under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. He extended a warm invitation to Vietnamese businesses to participate in upcoming Reverse Buyer–Seller Meets (RBSMs) in Himachal Pradesh.

“Our state offers stability, sector-specific incentives, and a highly skilled workforce. We look forward to long-term collaborations that benefit both economies,” he added.

The session saw participation from leading Vietnamese institutions and enterprises including the Vietnam Association of Mechanical Industry (VAMI), Indian Business Chamber in Hanoi (INCHAM), Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), T&T Group, Sovico Group, and Vietjet Air. Key discussions focused on advancing cooperation in medical technology, pharmaceutical production, and sustainable industry practices.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from the Indian Embassy, reaffirming the shared commitment of both governments to deepen bilateral trade, enhance technology exchange, and build enduring investment partnerships for a sustainable future.
