Unprecedented Commitment to Sustainable Mobility: Himachal Pradesh pioneers the adoption of zero-emission vehicles, setting a national example. The state’s dedication to sustainable transport reflects a bold vision for the future.

Development of Green Corridors: Six green corridors are being developed on national and state highways to expand EV charging infrastructure. These corridors aim to cover over 95% of major roads with charging stations, boosting EV adoption and reducing local air pollution.

Boosting Eco-Tourism: Green corridors not only facilitate EV usage but also enhance Himachal Pradesh’s appeal as an eco-conscious tourist destination. Charging stations along these routes promise a hassle-free travel experience and stimulate local economic growth.

Enhancing EV Charging Infrastructure: The state is rapidly expanding its network of charging stations to alleviate range anxiety among EV owners. With 17 stations operational and 106 more planned, Himachal Pradesh is on track to electrify its transport sector.

Policy and Government Support: Himachal Pradesh’s EV policy emphasizes public charging infrastructure development and provides financial incentives for EV purchases. Recent initiatives, including the announcement of green corridors and incentives for female students to buy electric two-wheelers, underscore the state’s commitment to sustainable transport.

Addressing Topographical Challenges: Despite challenges in rugged terrains, Himachal Pradesh witnesses a surge in EV registrations, especially in districts like Kangra and Una. The state’s efforts address the disparity in uptake across different regions, highlighting the impact of topography on EV adoption.

Conclusion: Himachal Pradesh’s proactive measures towards sustainable mobility, including the development of green corridors and robust EV infrastructure, position it as a model for other hill states. As the state progresses towards its goal of becoming a green energy hub by 2026, it sets a precedent for a sustainable future in transportation.
