Himachal Pradesh will showcase its rich legacy of bravery and patriotism at the Republic Day Parade 2026 in New Delhi with a tableau titled “Veeron Ki Bhoomi (Land of the Brave)”. The tableau has been selected by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, under the theme “Vande Mataram”, and will be part of the national celebrations on Kartavya Path.
Through this tableau, Himachal Pradesh will present its valiant tradition, deep-rooted patriotism, and the glorious saga of the State’s brave soldiers on the national stage. The tableau will symbolically depict devotion to the motherland, supreme sacrifice, and the spirit of nationalism associated with the soil of Himachal Pradesh.
The tableau will also highlight the State’s exceptional contribution to the nation’s defence. So far, Himachal Pradesh has produced 1,203 gallantry award winners, including four Param Vir Chakras, two Ashok Chakras, and ten Maha Vir Chakras, which stand as a testimony to the courage ingrained in the people of the State. Even today, youth from Himachal Pradesh continue to serve the nation by joining the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Central Armed Police Forces such as CRPF, BSF, CISF, ITBP, and SSB.
The selection of the tableau was made by a Central Committee constituted by the Ministry of Defence in accordance with prescribed norms, with the selection process commencing in October. Under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister and In-charge Minister of the Language and Culture Department, Mukesh Agnihotri, and the direction of Secretary, Language and Culture, Rakesh Kanwar, the department has initiated preparations for the design, construction, and presentation of the tableau. The work is being undertaken with the support of Jawahar Lal Nehru Government College of Fine Arts, Shimla.
Officials stated that participation in the Republic Day Parade 2026 is a matter of immense pride for the people of Himachal Pradesh and will further strengthen the State’s identity on the national platform. Earlier, Himachal Pradesh had the honour of presenting a tableau during the Kartavya Path Parade in 2020, which showcased the State’s internationally renowned cultural heritage.
This time, with the theme “Veer Naman”, the tableau “Veeron Ki Bhoomi – Himachal Pradesh” is expected to inspire the younger generation and reinforce the spirit of service, sacrifice, and dedication towards safeguarding the nation’s borders.
