Under the state level cleanliness campaign “Swachhata Hi Seva 2024” the theme “Swabhaav Swachhata, Sanskar Swachhata” was launched today with a special program organized at Him Hira Haat in Naldhera. On this occasion, Secretary Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department Rajesh Sharma participated as the chief guest. All the members were administered the cleanliness oath in the program.
The chief guest also planted a sapling under the campaign “One Tree in the Name of Mother”. The chief guest said that Swachhata Abhiyan is being run across the state. We all should include cleanliness in our behavior, only then the goals of cleanliness can be achieved. He said that three pillars have been made of Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan.
The first pillar is participation in cleanliness in which songs, dances, quizzes, poetry readings and street plays centered on cleanliness will be organized at various places with the participation of students and youth. The focus will be on waste management, total cleanliness and waste to art in the presence of citizens and experts at various places across the state. There will also be slogan writing programs focused on cleanliness during the campaign.
In this program, he interacted with the Swachhata Dal, women of National Rural Livelihood Mission and beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He said that self-help groups have a very big role in the Swachhata Abhiyan. Rajesh Sharma has appealed to the people of the state and the tourists visiting here to not throw garbage in the open from moving vehicles. Always play your role in throwing garbage in the dustbin.
He said that effective steps will be taken to address the demand of the local people regarding garbage disposal in this area. He said that many self-help groups are getting employment under the National Rural Livelihood Mission. This is important in strengthening the economy of the rural area.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Shimla Abhishek Verma also participated in the plantation. During this, he said that many programs will be organized under the Swachhata Abhiyan across the district and these programs will continue till October 2. He said that a resolution has been made to connect every citizen with this campaign.
Project Officer, District Rural Development Agency, Kirti Chandel said that various cleanliness activities were organized by the district administration. In this, people were also told about garbage disposal and cleanliness.
Him Ira Haat is being operated by Mashobra Block Level Federation. Products made by local women are put up for sale here. The chief guest inspected Him Ira Haat and understood the functioning of the Haat from the members. During this, the members of the Federation also placed their demands before the chief guest.
During this, Additional Director Rural Development Robin George, Block Development Officer Ankit Kotiya, members of Naldhera, Baldeyan, Gumma, Kohlu Jubbar etc. Panchayats and members of self-help groups were also present.
Siddu served on a green leaf plate
In the state level program, Sidu was served on green plates in order to promote eco-friendly activities. These plates were prepared by the self-help group of Basantpur block. Disposable glasses and plates were not used in this program. Similarly, local people were appealed to make eco-friendly things a part of their lives in daily activities.
There will be competition on poly brick
Under the said campaign, a competition was launched for all the self-help groups of the district to make poly bricks. Under this competition, the self-help groups will have to prepare poly bricks by collecting plastic waste and the group that does a better job will be awarded a prize.
