The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast indicating variable weather conditions in Himachal Pradesh over the next couple of weeks, with rainfall and snowfall expected to pick up between March 28 and 30.
According to the forecast, a few isolated areas may see light rain or snowfall on March 26 and 27. However, precipitation is expected to strengthen from March 28 to 30, when many regions could receive light to moderate rain or snow. Scattered showers may persist on March 31.
Looking ahead to the week of April 3 to 9, intermittent light to moderate rainfall is likely across several areas, driven by western disturbances, though dry spells are also anticipated in between.
Temperature patterns suggest a gradual transition toward the warmer season. During the first week, maximum temperatures are predicted to remain largely normal—ranging between 4–16°C in the higher hills, 14–28°C in mid-hill regions, and 20–32°C in the lower hills and plains. Minimum temperatures are also expected to stay near the seasonal average, with slight variations in some districts.
A more pronounced warming is forecast for the second week, especially in lower and mid-hill areas, where daytime temperatures may rise to 24–30°C.
Overall, Himachal Pradesh is expected to see a well-balanced weather pattern in the coming weeks, characterized by periodic rainfall and snowfall along with gradually increasing temperatures, signaling the approach of early summer in the plains and mid-hill regions.
